Oxford Alloy #1 Coated is a non-ferrous, cobalt-chromium-tungsten alloy. This electrode is recommended for applications involving severe abrasion accompanied by heat and/or corro-sion with moderate impact. The Oxford Alloy #1 Coated has a carbon content of 2.5 percent, which gives it a relatively high volume of carbides within its structure. Oxford Alloy #1 Coated weld deposits are smooth. It acquires a mirror-like finish in use and retains wear resistance at high temperatures. This alloy is nonmagnetic and is not forgeable. It can be machined with diffi-culty using carbide tools. Oxford Alloy #1 Coated bonds well with weldable alloy steels, including stainless.
